한국적인 소재에 매력을 느낀 작가가 민화의 나오는 동물들과 소재를 재해석하여 백자 달 항아리에 담아 이해하기 쉽고 위트 있으면서도 따뜻한 그림을 선보이는 컬렉션입니다.
I was attracted to the subjects in traditional Korean art. From folk paintings I reinterpreted the stories and animals and put them in a moon jar which is a Korean traditional porcelain. My moon jar collection shows the subjects in witty, easy to understand ways that are warm at the same time.
Goryeo celadon collection
고려청자(Goryeo celadon)는 고려시대(918년~1392년)를 대표하는 한국의 대표적인 문화 유산 중 하나로 푸른 빛을 띠는 도자기입니다. 9~10세기 경 최초로 제작되었고, 12세기~13세기 동안 가장 화려하고 발전된 형태의 디자인의 청자들이 제작되었습니다. 이 시기에 만들어진 여러 청자들 중에서 작가가 특히 마음에 드는 디자인을 골라 컬렉션을 구성하였습니다.
Goryeo celadon (blue porcelain) is one of Korean heritage traditional pottery representing the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392). It was first produced around the 9th~10th century, and during the 12th~13th century the most splendid and advanced forms of celadon were produced. Among the various celadon pieces made during this period, I chose a design that I especially liked and organized them for the collection.
Moon and Sun and Five peaks_서울
자연만 존재하던 아주 먼 옛날부터 시간이 흐름에 따라 사람들로 인해 전통 건축물과 현대 건축물이 추가되어 자연과 사람의 공존하고 있는 모습, 더 나아가 건축물을 매개로 과거와 현재가 공존함을 표현하였습니다.
“Moon and Sun and Five Peaks” is one of South Korea’s famous folk paintings that was always hung in the back-wall of the Korean King’s seat in the ancient dynasties. While some of artworks(=The original version) embody natural scenery, the others add modern and traditional architecture of Seoul to the original version. These drawings express that the cause of the change in scenery is humans. Although modernization can be beneficial for humans, it is most likely not good for the environment due to the cause of global warming.

Birds and Flowers 2 is an incorporation of Korean folk painting and modernism. The birds that wish for pure love and faith are gifted with luxury bags and diamond rings. Sometimes they hold gums, silver rings, and rings made out of grass. Have fun spotting some of the interesting items that the birds are holding.
